Our client is a market-leading manufacturer of products and solutions utilized within the construction industry. With plans for multi-million pound investments and a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, we are seeking an experienced Head of Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical SME Engineer to drive the business forward, enhancing manufacturing operations in production, planning, quality, H&S, and overall efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading a small engineering team of around 10-15 members
• People management, including motivating and mentoring your team to solve problems and develop their careers
• Implementing and managing HSEQ standards and policies
• Heavy industrial mechanical engineering
• Supporting the transition to a new state-of-the-art manufacturing environment
• Identifying opportunities for further automation of manufacturing processes
• Monitoring and executing electrical tasks through spot checks and providing relevant feedback

Qualifications:

• Experience in senior production/manufacturing leadership roles (e.g., Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, etc.)
• Leadership and people management skills
• Experience with mechanical maintenance and heavy industry plant knowledge
