Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Creation of CAD Models and Drawings: Producing detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings to meet required standards.
• Design Deliverables: Ensuring all design deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
• Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders during appropriate design phases to ensure coordination and functionality of design.
• Project Support: Contributing to and supporting the entire project and product design cycle, from concept to construction and installation.
• Technical Support: Providing technical support during the construction and installation phases.
• Perform self-verification of work.
• Reporting of technical progress and issues to line management.
• Be aware of and ensure that safety, health and environmental requirements are implemented
• Assist with the maintenance and improvement in quality standards of outputs.
• Act effectively as Discipline SQEP (Suitably qualified and experienced personnel).

Qualifications

• The candidate is required to hold an NC/HNC or an equivalent qualification in Mechanical / Piping discipline subject.
• Apprenticeship in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience.

Essential skills

• Familiarity with shipbuilding/ship repair terminology and practices.
• Be proficient in the use of one or more parametric/spec driven CAD system both in a 3D & 2D environment. Including FORAN.

Experience

• Experiencein Design working on Naval or Commercial Marine projects (preferably naval shipbuilding projects/alternatively new build or major conversion packages) or similar.
