Job description

2025 sees MoneyGram Haas F1 Team celebrate its tenth season in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship — we're just getting started. We challenge the status quo and invite you to join us.

The first American Formula 1 team since 1986, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team made an impressive debut at the 2016 Australian Grand Prix. Nine years on, we continue to grow and aim for future success, coming off our second-best season to date.

We are a racing team, not a corporate machine. Our three headquarters are in Kannapolis (US), Banbury (UK), and Maranello (Italy), driven by passionate and dedicated team members. Known as the 'family team' within the paddock, we offer diverse roles, broad visibility, and meaningful contributions to our collective success.

We learn from each other and strive to improve together.

General Summary:

This role reports to the Design Team Leader and is based in Maranello, Italy. The primary responsibility is designing F1 chassis components and mechanical assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote teamwork and effective communication across departments.
  • Design of F1 chassis components and mechanical assemblies.
  • Conduct studies and create designs using solid and surface modelling and 2D drawings to develop high-performance, reliable solutions.
  • Components include suspensions, wheels, hydraulic, fuel, cooling systems, and equipment for homologation and on-track management.
  • Manage design mock-up activities within the design office.
  • Follow all safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Design Team Leader.

Education and Work Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent required; further education such as a Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred. Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 in motorsports or F1 companies.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Solid technical background in racing cars.
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Quick decision-making and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to assist others.

Equipment and Applications:
  • Proficiency in CAD software (preferably CATIA), Microsoft Office, and ERP systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of composites.
  • Ability to comply with complex regulations regarding material shipment and facility maintenance.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

Must work effectively in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments, with occasional domestic and international travel. Long, flexible hours including weekends may be required. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, squatting, and manual dexterity. The environment involves machinery, race cars, rigs, debris, and hazardous fluids. Compliance with health and safety policies is mandatory.

This description may not include all duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

At MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, we value diversity, inclusion, and our employees. We offer competitive rewards, bonuses, and health programs to support your growth. If you are passionate about racing, technology, and teamwork, consider joining us to turn your passion into a profession.
