Join to apply for the Senior Mechanical Designer role at Cadillac Formula 1 Team

Cadillac Formula 1 is excited to be on the grid for the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship. Our new team is gearing up for rapid growth. To achieve our goals, we need to create and sustain a high-performance culture in every area. We have ambitious plans to build an outstanding operation that can compete at the highest level.

From exceptional Engineering and Design talent to a world-class race team, supported by specialists in off-track roles - we are assembling the expertise needed to drive this operation forward and compete at the highest level.

Being a part of this team, will accelerate your career. Take a closer look at the role:

As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for the complete design and integration of critical mechanical systems within a high-performance F1 chassis environment.

This includes ownership of complex sub-systems such as suspension, braking, driver controls, cooling and fuel - from initial concept and 3D CAD development through to detailed design, structural sign off and release for manufacture. Operating at a senior level, you will apply deep technical knowledge to ensure designs meet strict performance, stiffness, weight, and reliability targets under severe load constraints.

You will lead technical reviews, interface across departments and drive the resolution of design-related issues from rig testing to on-track deployment. In parallel, you'll mentor junior designers, enforce best-practice methodologies, and support the evolution of internal design processes to maintain the highest engineering standards in a fast-paced development environment.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead the development of CAD schemes, layouts, and detail drawings for mechanical components, with a focus on right-first-time design.
  • Design systems including but not limited to inboard suspension, composite suspension members, braking systems including brake ducts, dampers, steering components.
  • Own full lifecycle responsibility for assigned projects, from initial design through manufacture, test, and performance validation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members to ensure best practices and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other design departments
  • Ensure the manufacturability, reliability, and cost-efficiency of all mechanical solutions.
  • Support innovation by exploring new technologies, materials, and processes such as additive manufacturing and AI-driven design tools.
  • Apply high standards of documentation, quality control, and communication across all deliverables.
  • Remain current with developments in motorsport and beyond to drive continuous improvement and competitiveness.
