Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its water infrastructure team. You will deliver robust mechanical designs for water and wastewater projects, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring buildable, compliant solutions.

Responsibilities include producing design deliverables, supporting bids with cost estimates, mentoring junior engineers and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships across delivery phases. UK right-to-work is required.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in mechanical engineering design within the water, wastewater or process engineering sector.
• Experience designing mechanical aspects of water or wastewater treatment plants.
• A relevant Engineering degree/HND or equivalent experience.
• Chartered Engineer status or membership of a relevant professional institution.
• Good knowledge of water treatment, mechanical engineering and multidisciplinary project delivery.
• Working knowledge of CDM 2015 and relevant industry standards and regulations, including PUWER, LOLER, PSSR and DSEAR.
• Strong technical, analytical and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring or supervising engineering staff.
• The flexibility to travel to project sites and regional offices when required.
• A relevant Master's degree would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Producing and checking mechanical design deliverables, including drawings, specifications, schedules and calculations.
• Developing cost-effective designs that meet project specifications, programme and budget requirements.
• Coordinating mechanical designs with other engineering disciplines and contributing to 3D plant/site models.
• Working closely with construction teams, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure designs are practical and buildable.
• Supporting proposals and tenders with technical input and cost estimates.
• Ensuring designs comply with relevant industry standards, CDM 2015 and health & safety requirements.
• Supporting the development of engineering processes and procedures.
• Mentoring and supporting less experienced engineers.
• Maintaining strong customer and stakeholder relationships throughout project delivery.
