Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead civil design activities on major water and wastewater infrastructure projects, with delivery responsibility on a fully remote basis in the UK.

You will develop robust, buildable designs, supervise junior engineers, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to meet client requirements, regulatory standards and long-term asset performance objectives.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in civil engineering design within water/wastewater utilities.
• Understanding of treatment works, pumping stations and related infrastructure.
• Experience producing and reviewing civil calculations, reports, specs and drawings.
• Ability to deliver practical, buildable, cost-conscious civil solutions.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers.
• Chartered or working towards Chartership; member of a relevant institution.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design tasks to meet standards, budgets and programmes.
• Develop designs, calculations, layouts, specs and documentation.
• Produce cost-effective, buildable civil solutions with whole-life costs.
• Review design outputs for quality and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with Process/Mechanical/EICA/Structural/Digital/Commissioning teams.
• Identify and manage technical risks and optimisation opportunities.
• Support design of civil infrastructure incl. concrete, drainage, pipelines, earthworks.
• Mentor junior engineers, graduates and apprentices.
• Build strong relationships with clients and project teams.
