Job summary

TipTopJob in Hereford is seeking a Senior / Mechanical Design Engineer to join an aerospace-focused team. You will design and develop UAV/drone launch system components and assemblies, using SolidWorks and CAE tools to size and validate concepts, while contributing to prototype builds and test plans.

The role requires hands-on, independent work within a small team and may involve occasional travel outside the UK, with a competitive salary on offer.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng in Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proven mechanical design experience in aerospace/defence/motorsport.
• Proficient in modelling parts and assemblies in CAD (SolidWorks).
• Experience with engineering calculations and simulations (Mathcad/ANSYS).
• Experience developing mechanical systems from concept to reality.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical design schemes and detailed designs for UAV/drone launch system parts and assemblies.
• Carry out concept development for mechanical systems.
• Use hand calculations, simulations and CAE tools to size and optimise elements.
• Carry out concept design of mechanical systems using SolidWorks.
• Develop part and system testing plans and support in-house prototype build. Occasional travel outside the UK.
