Job summary

Enterprise Recruitment Ltd in Cambridge (Waterbeach area) is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to drive designs from concept through development and manufacture, using SolidWorks to create and refine components and sub-assemblies.

You will collaborate with scientists, engineers, manufacturing teams and suppliers to build prototypes, source parts and apply engineering knowledge to practical problems, with a strong emphasis on Design for Manufacture and BOM maintenance.

Qualifications

• At least five years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• Strong SolidWorks skills and experience with special-purpose machinery.
• Experience applying Design for Manufacture principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead full design process from concept through development.
• Design and develop components and sub-assemblies for specialist products.
• Create prototypes, source parts, and solve practical engineering challenges.
• Maintain drawings and BOMs and implement revisions with suppliers and manufacturing teams.
