Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join Kier Design, based in Liverpool or London. You will lead the mechanical design team and deliver high‑value projects, ensuring sustainable, compliant, and cost‑effective design from concept through construction.

You will collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors, communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and maintaining high standards of quality and documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartered status.
• Experience in your discipline with a high level of knowledge.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a wider business audience.
• Experience in applying quality procedures and document control in engineering design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design team within Kier Design.
• Deliver mechanical design for large, complex construction projects.
• Integrate disciplines and drive innovation for high‑value projects.
• Ensure sustainable, compliant and cost‑effective design delivery from concept to construction.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors and stakeholders to align client needs with engineering reality.
