Job summary

Tate Recruitment is partnering with a respected multidisciplinary consultancy to appoint a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. You will lead mechanical building services projects from concept through completion, delivering compliant, high-quality designs across all RIBA stages while mentoring junior staff.

Based from any of our London-area offices (Sidcup, Blackfriars, Stevenage, Oxford or Birmingham) with hybrid working, you will develop robust technical solutions, coordinate BIM models, and

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• 6–8 years' experience in Building Services Consultancy.
• 3+ years in a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, building services and sustainability.
• Experience delivering projects through all RIBA stages.
• Proficient in BIM environments and related software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage delivery of mechanical designs across all RIBA stages.
• Produce technical drawings, BIM models, specifications and reports.
• Perform design calculations and feasibility studies.
• Mentor graduates, engineers and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with UK regulations and industry standards.
• Support client relationships and project delivery within budget and timescales.
