Job summary

P&M Recruitment is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for building services in the UK. The role involves leading design delivery, mentoring junior engineers, and engaging with clients to deliver compliant, high-quality building services solutions.

Ideal candidates will have extensive UK mechanical building services experience, strong HVAC knowledge, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and IES. Chartered status is desirable and opportunities for progression exist within a collaborative

Qualifications

Experience in UK mechanical building services design.
Strong knowledge of HVAC and public health systems.
Solid understanding of UK building regulations and CIBSE guidelines.
Proven ability to manage projects and deliver high-quality design solutions.
Chartered status or working towards Chartership (desirable).

Responsibilities

Lead the design of mechanical building services across diverse projects (HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, public health).
Produce detailed design calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
Manage projects from concept through to completion, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies and technical assessments across varied building types.
Coordinate with electrical engineers, architects, structural teams and contractors.
Ensure designs meet regulations, standards and sustainability requirements.
Attend client meetings and present design solutions.
