Job summary

DCS Recruitment Limited is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for its Oxford-area aerospace team. The role focuses on leading mechanical designs from concept to detailed design, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements, and mentoring junior engineers.

You will manage design work packages, collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers and customers, and drive quality and technical accuracy across PLM environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/ aerospace related field and relevant experience.
• Experience supervising a team of Mechanical Design Engineers.
• Proficiency with CATIA V5, AutoCAD and PLM systems.
• Experience in regulated aerospace environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical systems from concept through to detailed design and manufacture.
• Plan tasks, deliverables and schedules for a team of design engineers.
• Develop and maintain 2D drawings, 3D models and engineering bills of materials.
• Ensure designs meet regulatory standards and customer requirements; manage design changes.
