Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead end-to-end mechanical development from concept to manufacture. You will create production-ready 3D models and drawings, perform analyses, select materials, and prototype for validation.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, quality and procurement, mentor junior engineers and ensure compliance with standards. The role is based in Cambridge and offers technical leadership within a growing engineering team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong CAD experience with manufacturing-ready designs.
• Solid understanding of materials, fabrication, machining, welding and assembly.
• Knowledge of engineering calculations, tolerancing and FEA.
• Experience designing products for manufacture and cost efficiency.
• Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
• Ability to lead design activities across multidisciplinary teams.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you'll lead the design and development of mechanical products from concept through to manufacture, ensuring solutions are innovative, cost-effective, compliant and production-ready.
