Job summary

Qualifications

• Extensive mechanical design experience in humanoid robotics.
• Proficient in 3D CAD and GD&T usage.
• Strong mechanism design, linkages, bearings and actuator integration knowledge.
• Hands-on prototyping experience.
• Knowledge of materials from engineering to aesthetic finishes.
• Experience designing for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
• Ability to work cross-functionally with electrical and software teams.
• Proven ability to take hardware from concept through validation to production.
• Experience with organic mesh modelling tools like Blender or Z-Brush.
• Experience transitioning from prototype to volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and subsystems for humanoid robots, including novel mechanisms and aesthetic shells.
• Advance designs through concept, prototype, testing, iteration, production and maintenance stages.
• Balance aesthetics, performance, durability, availability and manufacturability constraints.
• Select materials and processes balancing strength, weight, cost and scalability.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams for prototype and production across AM, CNC and casting.
• Identify and resolve design challenges and improve internal data tooling.
• Coordinate with Electronics and Software teams to integrate hardware with sensing and control.
• Design and implement testing to validate performance and reliability.
• Create detailed documentation: production drawings, tolerances, BOMs and specs.
• Support product compliance through risk assessments and safety standards.
