Job summary

Assystem seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to develop fluid systems and lead 2D/3D CAD activity within a multi-disciplinary team. The role involves creating PFDs, P&IDs and BIM models, coordinating with stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant designs.

You will participate in design reviews, maintain CAD documentation and work within quality, time and budget targets. Hybrid work options are available in the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical Design Engineer or similar role.
• Familiarity with 2D CAD for drawing creation.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD/BIM systems for models and drawings.
• SC Clearance or capable of achieving it.

Responsibilities

• Develop 2D CAD drawings, including PFDs and P&IDs.
• Prepare 3D CAD/BIM models, plant layouts, piping design and isometrics.
• Perform layout optimisation and participate in design reviews.
• Ensure compliance with standards, codes, and safety requirements.
