Job summary

Assystem is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to develop fluid systems for nuclear projects. You will create 2D PFDs and P&IDs, and build 3D CAD/BIM models while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

The role offers hybrid work (1–2 days remote per week), requires an engineering degree, and may require SC clearance. You will ensure design safety, quality, and timely delivery within project constraints.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design for complex systems.
• Proficient with AutoCAD for 2D drawings and multiple 3D CAD/BIM tools.
• SC clearance or ability to obtain clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop 2D CAD drawings, PFDs and P&IDs.
• Prepare 3D CAD/BIM models, layouts and isometrics.
• Perform layout optimisation across design phases.
• Participate in design reviews and technical meetings.
• Ensure compliance with design standards, codes and safety factors.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for coordinated design.
• Maintain design records and update CAD/BIM databases.
• Report status to management and meet time/budget constraints.
• Support and resolve issues with stakeholders.
