Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join an F1 team. This team has recently moved into new premises, so you’ll be working with a brand new facility and offices. Opportunity to work within a tight-knit design team where everyone collaborates closely to achieve team goals.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing various parts, including exhaust systems and gearboxes, among other components. There is flexibility regarding your CAD software experience; the key requirement is motorsport/F1 design experience. Training can be provided on the CAD system. You’ll lead the entire design process from start to finish.

As this is a senior position, you will also mentor junior engineers within the team.

You’ll work closely with other internal teams such as aerodynamics, trackside, and other engineering groups to ensure smooth design processes. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will occasionally liaise with suppliers and external partners.

Requirements for this position:

1. Degree in mechanical, motorsport, automotive, or aerospace engineering
2. 5+ years experience in mechanical design
3. Experience working within motorsport or F1
4. Proficiency in CAD software; flexibility on software preferred, ideally NX or Catia
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and a team-oriented attitude
6. Ability to lead projects and meet performance targets under strict deadlines
