Job summary

MBDA in Stevenage is seeking a Future Products, Principal Systems Design Engineer to transform high-level missile concepts into technical scopes. You will lead systems engineering across the design spectrum, bridging customer needs and deliverable plans, working at the intersection of concept development and strategic growth.

The role offers hybrid working 3–5 days on-site and requires BPSS clearance with SC; you will engage with SMEs across disciplines and help define functional architectures

Qualifications

Extensive experience in Systems Engineering, especially early-phase conceptual work.
Experience in capturing and translating customer needs into specifications.
Ability to engage across Physical Architecture, Aerodynamics, Propulsion, G&C, Navigation.
Desirable: MBSE awareness.

Responsibilities

Lead activities across the system design spectrum and define functional architectures.
Translate customer needs into structured specifications (CPS, SRS, TRS).
Own technical milestones and plan delivery with SMEs.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical strategy with business objectives.
Develop and validate system-level performance requirements.
