Job summary

A Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with a Building Services focus is required in the Chelmsford area on a permanent basis. You will use CAD to develop concept designs and produce technical drawings, liaise with manufacturing providers and support final assembly.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years’ experience in a similar design or CAD role within building services or an industrial environment, with strong communication and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in design engineering or CAD operations.
• Experience in building services or industrial environments.
• Excellent communication, both verbal and written.
• Proficient with MS Office and document control.

Responsibilities

• Create concept designs and technical drawings using CAD.
• Liaise with manufacturing providers and coordinate parts.
• Assist in final assembly and BOM creation.
• Update 3D models and issue drawings for sign-off.
• Prepare design documentation and project reports.
