You will deliver high-quality mechanical building services designs across healthcare and education sectors, guiding projects from concept through to completion.

Qualifications

• Degree or Master’s qualification in Engineering.
• Experience in mechanical building services design within built environments.
• Proficiency with IES and AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit preferred.
• Familiar with current building regulations and CIBSE guidance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical building services designs to a high technical standard, on time and within budget.
• Prepare detailed engineering calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings.
• Meet with clients to understand project requirements and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Assist in the preparation and review of tender documentation, reports, and recommendations.
• Manage projects through all design and construction stages.
• Carry out site inspections, surveys, commissioning activities, and condition assessments.
• Monitor installation works and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Develop energy strategies and sustainable mechanical design solutions.
• Produce designs using IES, AutoCAD, and Revit.
• Coordinate pipework and ductwork distribution with other disciplines.
• Support monthly fee forecasting and project financial performance.

They are seeking an Intermediate Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) to join a growing team based in Chelmsford.

About You

• A Degree or Master's qualification in Engineering.

• A good understanding of current building regulations, CIBSE guidance, industry standards, and best practice.
• Strong communication and project coordination skills.
• A proven ability to manage workloads and meet project deadlines.
• Chartered Engineer status or be working towards chartership.
• Membership of CIBSE, the Energy Institute, or a similar professional body (desirable).
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
