Job summary

Gleeds in Oxford is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Building Services team on a permanent, hybrid basis. You will produce designs for mechanical building systems, perform calculations, and prepare specifications and drawings.

The role offers opportunities for progression within a collaborative, high‑potential team, with QA monitoring and site inspections, plus flexible working arrangements and pension.

Qualifications

• CEng status or membership with CIBSE or IMechE.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and H2X or equivalent software.
• Experience in surveying/design consultancy or building services contractors.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, plus enthusiasm and ambition.

Responsibilities

• Produce designs for mechanical building systems.

Qualifications

• Actively working towards, or holding CEng status with CIBSE or IMechE membership.
• Confident using industry standard software, including AutoCAD and H2X or similar software packages.
• Experience working in a similar surveying/design consultancy practice or with building services contractors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus enthusiasm and ambition.
