Role

• Ensuring an understanding of project briefs and designing/specifying all Mechanical Building Services systems.
• Preparation and review of documentation such as designs, specifications, assessment reports, and survey reports.
• Managing the production of detailed calculations using industry-standard software tools including Excel, CAD, IES, and in-house developed tools.
• Conducting site surveys, inspections, and monitoring of site works.
• Implementing detailed surveys of mechanical services and equipment to establish the status of existing installations and gather information for new or upgrade design proposals.
• Assisting with the development of junior engineers.
• Writing reports and technical notes.

Qualifications / Experience

• Degree qualified or equivalent in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Ideally chartered or working towards chartership with CIBSE or IET.
• 5-10 years of experience in a design consultancy or similar environment.
• Knowledge of mechanical design within the built environment.
• Good report writing skills and experience presenting to clients and attending meetings.
• Detailed knowledge of relevant technical standards, able to manage project deliverables, make decisions, and act independently.
• Proficiency in digital tools such as IES thermal modelling, Microsoft Office, and CAD.
