Electrical Design Engineer Building Services (Int/Senior), Glasgow

This position is with an award-winning engineering consultancy specializing in innovative solutions for complex building projects. They offer full MEP and sustainability services across various sectors including Data Centres, Healthcare, Education, Residential, Retail, and Sports & Leisure. The role is based in their Glasgow office, providing opportunities to work on diverse projects with a good work-life balance and benefits such as a 9-day fortnight.

Responsibilities
  1. Understanding project briefs and designing electrical building services systems.
  2. Designing and specifying systems such as power, lighting, earthing, life safety, telecoms, security, lifts, and lightning protection.
  3. Producing detailed calculations using industry-standard software like Excel, Dialux, Amtech, and Revit.
  4. Representing the company at client and contractor meetings.
  5. Conducting site surveys, inspections, and monitoring works.
  6. Writing reports and technical notes.
  7. Maintaining records and adhering to quality, environmental, and governance standards.
Qualifications & Experience
  1. Degree in Building Services or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  2. Chartered or working towards chartership with CIBSE or IET preferred.
  3. 5-10 years of experience in a design consultancy or similar environment.
  4. Knowledge of mechanical design within the built environment.
  5. Proficient in report writing and client communication.
  6. Strong knowledge of technical standards and project management.
  7. Computer literacy in AutoCAD, Excel, Amtech, Relux, Dialux, with Revit being advantageous.
  8. Eligible to work in the UK (EU work permit required).
