Job summary

Safran Engineering Services in the UK invites applications for a Mechanical Engineer Product Design contractor based in Pitstone, Hertfordshire. This full-time role is Inside IR35, 6–12 months with potential for permanency.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will strengthen the Through Life Support team, delivering robust electromechanical designs and ensuring manufacturability while advising on cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen TLS team as Senior Mechanical Engineer.
• Lead design, verification and validation of electromechanical products.
• Provide technical leadership at QRQC meetings.
• Collaborate with OE and MRO teams for solutions.
• Support production to meet build schedules and resolve issues.
• Lead engineering investigations and root cause analysis.
• Prepare and approve engineering documentation across stages.
• Monitor KPIs and engineering budget targets.
