Job summary

Safran Engineering Services seeks a Principal Electro-Mechanical Engineer for a 6-month Inside IR35 contractor role in Pitstone, UK. Lead mechanical design of rotating machinery and electric machines, drive product roadmaps, and chair design reviews to ensure First Time Right outcomes.

Responsibilities include aligning with customer requirements, evaluating market trends, and guiding R&T to shape future products. Strong background in aerospace/mechanical design and airworthiness is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering required.
• Experience leading NPI projects of reasonable size and budget.
• Understanding of airworthiness requirements and EASA/FAA and RTCA regulations.
• Proven ability to analyse market needs and develop product roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Ensure product line achieves and surpasses technical and economic objectives.
• Ensure the product meets customer requirements during the life cycle.
• Lead design and technical reviews to ensure First Time Right design methodology.
• Validate tender compliance to product policy during bid phase.
• Maintain and propose roadmaps with R&T team.
