Job summary

Outsource UK is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis for a global engineering client. The successful candidate will lead more junior Mechanical Engineers while also managing the mechanical design aspects of various projects.

Responsibilities include acting as the mechanical engineering lead on NPI projects from concept through production launch, owning architecture decisions for performance, manufacturability and cost, and leading 3D modelling and detailed assembly

Qualifications

• Experience leading mechanical design activities on NPI or product development projects.
• 3D modelling and detailed component/assembly design experience.
• Design for manufacture principles with focus on assembly.

A number of Senior Mechanical Design Engineers are wanted on a permanent basis by a global Engineering client of ours who is at the forefront of their industry. In this role, the successful candidate will ultimately be responsible for leading more junior Mechanical Engineers, whilst also being responsible for Mechanical design aspects of various projects.

This is a permanent opportunity that includes a base salary of between £45,000 - £53,000 dependent upon experience and qualifications plus bonuses and benefits.

Overview of the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role:

• Act as the mechanical engineering lead on NPI projects from concept development through production launch.


• Own mechanical architecture decisions, ensuring product performance, manufacturability, reliability, serviceability, and cost targets are achieved


• Lead design activities including 3D Modelling, detailed component & Assembly design.

Key skills required for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role:

• Previous experience of design for manufacture principles with focus on assembly.


• Demonstrated experience leading mechanical design activities on NPI or product development projects


• Experience developing products from concept through production release.


• Possess an associated Mechanical/Engineering biased degree qualification.
