Join the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit! Reporting to the Turbine Island Lead, the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for developing fluid systems. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer shall work closely with multi-disciplined teams and the supply chain to help deliver the system design.
Your mission:
️ Develop 2D CAD drawings, including detailed process flow diagrams (PFD) and process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
️ Prepare 3D CAD/BIM models, covering plant layouts, piping design, isometrics, MTO, general arrangement drawings, detailed drawings, and sketches.
️ Perform layout optimization engineering throughout design phases to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
Participate in 3D model reviews, layout reviews, design reviews, and technical meetings to ensure precision and alignment.
Ensure compliance with all design safety factors, tolerances, specifications, standards, codes, legislation, and requirements.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to achieve a coordinated and cohesive design.
️ Maintain thorough records of the design process in line with best practices, ensuring meticulous documentation.
Update and manage databases for CAD/BIM design documentation, keeping everything current and organized.
Report status and updates to the management team to keep everyone informed and aligned.
Support the team by upholding high standards, meeting targets, and adhering to quality, time, and budget constraints.
️ Mediate and resolve issues with all stakeholders, ensuring solutions are aligned and effective.
️Adhere to company statutory H&S Policies and rules, maintaining compliance with project and quality standards.

Professionally qualified in an engineering-related field, bringing expertise and technical prowess.
SC Clearance or the capability to achieve it, ensuring readiness for high-security projects.
Due to the nature of the work, applicants must meet UK security clearance criteria.
