Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Manchester

Contract Type: Contract

Ceto Talent is partnering with a rapidly growing design consultancy working on major projects in the UK water and utilities sector. Due to growth, they seek experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineers to make a significant impact.

Location: Manchester (Hybrid working available)

Sector: Water & Utilities Infrastructure

Start Date: ASAP

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead mechanical design package delivery, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance
• Produce detailed design calculations and technical drawings for water and wastewater projects
• Manage and support junior engineers and CAD technicians
• Coordinate with subcontract M&E design teams
• Engage with equipment suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders
• Conduct site investigations and prepare reports and specifications
• Support project meetings and design presentations
• Estimate design hours and project scope accurately

What We’re Looking For:

• Extensive mechanical design experience in the water sector (clean and/or wastewater)
• Strong hydraulic design knowledge
• Understanding of electrical/control systems and construction methods
• Degree or HND in mechanical engineering or related field
• Proficiency in industry-standard software and drawing practices
• Chartered or working towards chartered status (desirable)
