Job summary

Platform Recruitment is partnering with a manufacturer that designs and develops complex hardware for precision electro-mechanical systems and advanced manufacturing applications. A Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is sought to join a Cambridge-based team delivering robust mechanical solutions integrated into larger system platforms.

You will work across concept, detailed design, prototyping and testing with strong 3D CAD emphasis in a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in electro-mechanical systems, mechanisms, motors, gearboxes or actuators.
• Strong 3D CAD skills.
• Experience taking products through full lifecycle.
• Knowledge of a range of manufacturing techniques.
• Hands-on prototyping and testing.
• Strong analytical mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & deliver complex mechanical subsystems within integrated platforms
• Full product lifecycle development - concept generation, detailed design & design for manufacture
• Conduct hands-on prototyping & testing
• 3D CAD design
• Work in a highly skilled multidisciplinary engineering team

Key Requirements

• Background in developing electro-mechanical systems, mechanisms, motors, gearboxes or actuators
• Strong 3D CAD skills
• Proven experience in developing products through the full product life cycle
• Knowledge of a range of manufacturing techniques
