Job Description:

Are you an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer? Do you have experience working within a highly regulated industry such as Aerospace, Defence, Nuclear, Marine or Land Systems? We want to talk to you!

Our client, a leading manufacturer in the Aerospace sector, is seeking an Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to develop engineering solutions across the product lifecycle, designing and testing aerospace components while adhering to strict standards. This role involves collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to create reliable and innovative products.

Position Details

• Type: Permanent
• Working hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm, Friday 8:00am – 1:00pm
• Salary: Very Competitive Salary
• Location: Fareham

Responsibilities

• Focus on complex aerospace products and systems, developing conceptual designs and modeling options.
• Perform scientific analysis and predictive modeling to optimize designs.
• Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and suppliers across disciplines.
• Manage and validate requirements, ensuring compliance through documentation, testing, and analysis.
• Support project planning, track progress, and contribute to continuous improvement as a subject matter expert.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Proficient in 3D modeling and 2D drafting with GD&T, ideally using SolidWorks or AutoCAD Inventor; knowledge of other tools is a plus.
• Experience with configuration control, change management, and using configuration management systems.
• Experienced in Finite Element Analysis, Design FMEAs, and leading teams to deliver compliant designs on schedule.
• Strong communication skills for conveying complex concepts, preparing reports, and making data-driven decisions.
