Job summary

DCS Engineering, based in Birmingham, seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with strong Revit skills to lead HVAC and building services design on commercial projects. The role covers concept through to detailed design and working drawings, with hands-on modelling and coordinating with project teams.

You will design LTHW/CHW systems, ventilation, ductwork and pipework, and mentor junior engineers while delivering buildable solutions to programme deadlines.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Revit / HVAC

Contract: Permanent or Contract Considered

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established mechanical building services business in Birmingham.

This is a hands-on design role for an engineer who is confident taking mechanical building services designs from initial concept through to detailed design and working drawings, with strong, recent experience using Autodesk Revit.

You will work across a range of commercial and fit-out projects, designing HVAC and mechanical services and working closely with project teams and other disciplines to deliver coordinated, buildable solutions.

Revit is essential for this position.

What You'll Be Doing

• Develop mechanical building services designs from concept through to detailed design and working drawings.

What We're Looking For

• Strong experience in mechanical building services design.
• Experience designing HVAC/mechanical services including LTHW, CHW, ventilation, AC, ductwork and pipework.
• Experience taking designs from concept through to detailed/working drawings.
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines across multiple projects.
• Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Commercial building services or fit-out experience.
• Experience with Hevacomp and/or TAS.
• Experience coordinating designs with other disciplines.
• Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
