Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead building services design from concept through installation. You will work within multidisciplinary teams, delivering compliant HVAC, heating and ventilation solutions with robust documentation.

You will prepare calculations, specifications and reports, coordinate drawings using AutoCAD and BIM tools, and engage with clients and contractors to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience as Mechanical/Design Engineer in building services projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation and public health systems.
• Familiarity with British Standards, Building Regulations and CIBSE guidance.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and engineering calculation software.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical building services solutions from concept to installation.
• Produce mechanical designs, calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Develop coordinated drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and BIM processes.
• Collaborate with project teams, contractors, suppliers and clients.
• Support design reviews, workshops and project meetings.
• Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, BS EN standards and CIBSE guidance.
• Provide technical support during construction, commissioning and handover.
• Undertake site visits to support project delivery.
