Job summary

Recruitment Solutions Workforce Ltd is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to work on the Hinkley Point C project in Somerset. You will lead mechanical installation activities, supervise trades and ensure safety, quality and progress on site.

The role requires a hands-on mechanical background, ability to interpret drawings, and the capacity to coordinate resources and teams. Nuclear project experience is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical trade background required.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical installation, fabrication and welding.
• Able to interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Experience managing mechanical trades and installation work packages.
• Solid understanding of construction health and safety (CDM 2015).
• Proven ability to coordinate labour, equipment and subcontractors.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Experience on major industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate mechanical construction and installation activities on site.
• Oversee mechanical fitters, platers, welders and other trades.
• Ensure installations meet drawings, specs and quality requirements.
• Coordinate labour, equipment, materials and subcontractors.
• Monitor progress against programmes and milestones.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality rules.
• Review risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
• Conduct site inspections and verify workmanship.
• Identify and resolve technical issues affecting construction.
• Maintain construction documentation and progress reports.
• Liaise with engineering, quality, planning and project teams.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and site procedures.
