Job summary

Recruitment Solutions Workforce Ltd in Somerset is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager for the Hinkley Point C project. You will lead mechanical installation activities, supervise trades and ensure safety, quality and programme compliance on a high-profile nuclear construction site.

The role requires hands-on mechanical background, strong leadership and the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across on-site operations. Nuclear industry experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Fitting or relevant mechanical trade qualification
• SMSTS certification
• CSCS Supervisor Card
• Experience in mechanical construction management on major industrial projects
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and site safety requirements

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate mechanical construction and installation activities on site.
• Oversee mechanical fitters, platers, welders and other specialist trades.
• Ensure installations meet engineering drawings, specifications and project quality requirements.
• Coordinate labour, equipment, materials and subcontractor activities.
• Monitor progress against programmes and milestones.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Review risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure installation quality and workmanship.
• Identify and resolve technical and operational issues.
• Maintain construction documentation and progress reports.
• Liaise with engineering, quality, planning and project management teams.
• Ensure CDM Regulations 2015 compliance.
