Job summary

Design for Manufacture Resourcing (DFM-R) Limited is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager for a major UK nuclear programme at Hinkley Point C, Somerset. This contract role requires on-site presence 3-4 days per week.

You will lead safe delivery of mechanical packages, coordinate piping, valves and supports, manage multiple contractors, and ensure progress from readiness through handover, engaging with Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Quality and Planning.

Qualifications

• Experience managing complex mechanical construction or installation packages.
• Knowledge of piping, valves, mechanical supports or related mechanical systems.
• Experience coordinating contractors and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
• Understanding of construction sequencing and site delivery.
• Ability to identify risks and drive completion.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience in nuclear or regulated environment advantageous.
• Available to work at Hinkley Point C 3–4 days per week.

The Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to support the delivery of complex mechanical works on a major UK nuclear construction programme.

The Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for the safe and effective site delivery of mechanical packages from construction readiness through installation, testing and final handover.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams and contractors while working closely with Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Planning and Commercial stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the safe delivery of mechanical construction activities across the assigned area.
• Coordinate the installation of piping, valves, mechanical supports and associated mechanical works.
• Manage multiple contractors, work packages and delivery teams.
• Coordinate site priorities, resources and installation sequencing.
• Monitor engineering, material and construction readiness against the programme.
• Identify and resolve technical, logistical and construction constraints.
• Manage interfaces between disciplines, contractors and work areas.
• Oversee progress through installation, testing and system completion.
• Monitor programme performance, productivity, risk and change.
• Use project data to identify emerging issues and remove delivery blockers.
• Maintain clear communication between the client, site teams and supply chain.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience managing complex mechanical construction or installation packages.
• Strong knowledge of piping, valves, mechanical supports or related mechanical systems.
• Experience coordinating contractors and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, project controls and site delivery.
• Ability to identify risks, resolve constraints and drive actions through to completion.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience within nuclear, power generation, major infrastructure or another regulated engineering environment would be advantageous.
• Able to work at Hinkley Point C between three and four days per week.
