Job summary

HS2 Ltd. is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer to coordinate design and engineering activities for pumping stations and portal buildings. You will support the Design Manager to ensure safe and efficient delivery of the design.

Essential qualifications include a degree in Mechanical/Building Services, Chartered status (or working towards it), and proven experience on major infrastructure projects with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer, or working towards professional accreditation.
• Experience delivering complex infrastructure, construction or building services projects within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Strong understanding of design management, technical assurance and engineering best practice.
• Ability to review and optimise engineering solutions while balancing project requirements, risk and delivery objectives.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the design and engineering activities for pumping stations and portal buildings.
• Review designs from consultants, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Promote safe-by-design principles and support technical assurance processes.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
• Liaise with stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support design approvals.
• Support procurement, construction and delivery teams to ensure designs are practical and buildable.
