Job summary

Mott MacDonald is recruiting a Principal Building Services Engineer to join our Nuclear, Defence and Civil division across the UK. You will lead building services on multi-discipline projects, manage design reviews, and drive high-quality specifications and bid responses while mentoring teams and engaging with clients.

The role offers hybrid working within a supportive, employee-owned environment, with opportunities to shape cutting-edge projects in the energy transition and defence sectors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered status with IMechE, CIBSE or other body.
• Experience delivering written work: Basis of Design, equipment specs, validation plans.
• Experience in highly regulated environments (Nuclear, Health, Life Sciences, Oil & Gas, Pharma or Rail).

Responsibilities

• Lead building services on multidisciplinary design projects from feasibility to detailed design.
• Review and approve design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Guide deliverables including basis of design and validation plans.
• Ensure compliance with construction regulations across projects and bids.
• Mentor multidisciplinary teams and engage with clients at senior levels.
