Job summary

Parkinson Gray Associates in Manchester is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Building Services Designer to lead detailed design and coordination across HVAC and public health systems.

You will work within a BIM-led environment using Revit and AutoCAD, mentoring junior staff and liaising with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure compliant, high‑quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience designing mechanical building services in consultancy or contracting environments.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC layouts and ventilation strategies.
• Experience coordinating BIM-led projects and multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical building services designs for complex projects.
• Coordinate HVAC and public health layouts using Revit and AutoCAD within BIM Level 2 environments.
• Prepare equipment schedules, schematics and technical specifications.
• Conduct load calculations and duct/pipe sizing using established software.
• Support senior engineers and mentor junior staff.
• Ensure design aligns with programme, specifications and client expectations.
• Participate in design reviews and client coordination workshops.
• Conduct site surveys and construction-stage support.
