Job summary

Rubicon Consulting is seeking an MBS Design Engineer for a 6-Month Rolling Contract based in Manchester. You will own the mechanical design of the buildings housing high-voltage equipment, leading HVAC systems from concept to construction and mentoring junior engineers.

You will ensure designs meet UK regulations and industry standards, perform design calculations, and collaborate with contractors and suppliers to deliver high-quality packages.

Qualifications

• HVAC and building services design experience.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Knowledge of UK regulations and CIBSE guidance.
• Strong design calculations and equipment selection.
• Ability to work independently and communicate well.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design of the buildings from start to finish.
• Lead the heating, cooling, ventilation and plumbing design from concept to construction.
• Own your design packages and deliver them on time and to a high standard.
• Perform design calculations and select equipment for projects.
• Ensure designs are safe, meet UK regulations and industry standards, and are easy to build and maintain.
• Lead risk assessments and safety reviews.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams, contractors and suppliers.
• Support and mentor junior engineers.
