Job summary

Rubicon Consulting in Manchester is seeking an MBS Design Engineer to own the mechanical design of buildings housing HV equipment, from concept to construction. Lead HVAC, ventilation and plumbing design for major grid infrastructure, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will coordinate with engineering teams, contractors and suppliers, perform design calculations, and mentor junior engineers while driving designs to a high standard in a rolling 6-month contract in Manchester.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical or building services engineering.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards it.
• Strong HVAC and building services design experience.
• Experience leading projects with several engineering teams.
• Good knowledge of UK regulations and CIBSE guidance.

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for an MBS Design Engineer on a 6-Month Rolling Contract , located in Manchester.

The opportunity

This is a chance to own the mechanical design on major grid infrastructure, the buildings that house high-voltage equipment and keep it running safely. You'll lead the heating, cooling, ventilation and plumbing design from first idea to construction, work with other engineering teams, and help junior engineers grow.

What you'll need

• Good knowledge of UK regulations and CIBSE guidance
• Able to work independently and communicate well
