Job summary

Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 8a Matron to lead North Inpatient Wards and work with RMN colleagues across Acute Inpatients, Urgent Care or Home Treatment to deliver high quality, patient-centred care.

You will provide day-to-day clinical and operational leadership, manage resources and budgets, support service development, governance and quality improvement, and participate in Trust-wide service improvements with the multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Registered NMC qualification.
• Knowledge of Quality Improvement.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to the implementation of strategic plans within the service and designated acute and urgent care services.
• Managing resources appropriately to ensure care is delivered effectively, including delegated budget oversight.
• Demonstrating a strong focus on quality of the service user experience with clear risk management processes.
• Developing, implementing and monitoring quality standards across the Trust through clinical leadership.
• Supporting service improvement objectives aligned with the Trust's aims and priorities.
• Ensuring effective communication with service users, carers and the multidisciplinary team to deliver best care.
• Advising Team Managers on professional and practice issues in consultation with senior nursing colleagues and HR.
• Being highly visible as a professional leader of the service to stakeholders.
• Leading achievement of KPIs for service area including quality, governance, workforce and finances.
