Job summary

Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Band 8a Matron to lead North Inpatient Wards and work with RMNs across Acute Inpatients, Urgent Care or Home Treatment. You will provide day-to-day clinical and operational leadership on Acute Wards and contribute to service development.

The post requires a proven track record as a clinical lead at Band 7/8a, with a strong focus on quality, governance and patient-centred care.

• Knowledge of Quality Improvement

Responsibilities

• Contribute to strategic plans within the service and acute/urgent care.
• Manage resources to ensure effective care and delegated budget.
• Focus on improving patient experience in design and delivery with clear risk processes.
• Develop, implement and monitor quality standards across the Trust.
• Support service improvement objectives aligned to Trust priorities.
• Ensure effective communication with service users, carers and the MDT.
• Advise Team Managers on professional and practice issues with senior colleagues.
• Maintain high visibility as a professional service leader to stakeholders.
• Lead in achieving key performance indicators for quality, governance, workforce and finance.
