Job summary

Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Senior Maternity Support Worker to join our Homebirth Team at Birmingham Women’s Hospital. You will work with midwives to provide high-quality, personalised care to women and families choosing homebirth.

The role involves supporting antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care, assisting with observations and equipment, and offering practical and emotional support in homes.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
• Level 5 Foundation Degree In Health & Care.

Responsibilities

• Support midwives in antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care.
• Assist with clinical observations and preparation of equipment for homebirths.
• Provide emotional and practical support to women and families at home.
• Promote safe practice and uphold Trust policies.
