Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking an experienced Advanced Social Work Practitioner for its Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) in Nottingham. You will lead in safeguarding decision-making and support frontline staff across partners to ensure timely, appropriate interventions for children and families.

You will manage a small caseload, provide expert guidance on thresholds, and develop social workers through coaching and mentorship while upholding high-quality practice in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ post-qualification experience in social work.
• Registered with Social Work England.
• Experience in safeguarding and multi-agency working is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Hold and actively manage a small caseload of complex safeguarding enquiries and screening work.
• Provide expert advice on safeguarding thresholds and decision-making.
• Lead on screening and assessment of complex contacts and referrals.
• Support colleagues with risk analysis, information gathering and safety planning.
• Promote proportionate and timely interventions for children and families.
• Work with partner agencies to ensure robust information sharing and decision-making.
• Coach, mentor and develop social workers and other practitioners.
• Contribute to high-quality safeguarding practice and continuous improvement.
• Provide professional challenge and leadership on complex safeguarding matters.
