Job summary

Nottingham City Council's Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) is seeking an Advanced Social Work Practitioner to join the front door of Children's Services. You will lead complex safeguarding decisions, analyse information from multiple partners and guide junior social workers through challenging cases.

You will work in a fast-paced, hybrid role, contributing to risk assessment, information sharing and timely interventions for children and families while developing high-quality,

Qualifications

• Must have a recognised Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration.
• Minimum of three years' post-qualification experience with children, young people and families.
• Experience in safeguarding thresholds and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Hold and actively manage a small caseload of complex safeguarding enquiries and screening work as required.
• Provide expert advice, guidance and support regarding safeguarding thresholds and decision-making.
• Lead on the screening and assessment of complex contacts and referrals.
• Support colleagues with risk analysis, information gathering and safety planning.
• Promote proportionate and timely interventions for children and families.
• Work effectively with partner agencies to ensure information sharing supports robust decision-making.
• Coach, mentor and develop social workers, family support workers and other practitioners.
• Contribute to the continuous development of high-quality, relationship-based safeguarding practice.
• Support quality assurance activity and drive improvements in service delivery.
• Provide professional challenge, consultation and practice leadership on complex safeguarding matters.
