Job summary

VolkerStevin, part of the VolkerWessels UK group, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead major marine civil engineering programmes at HMNB Clyde. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage scope, cost and schedule, and administer NEC4 contracts in a live, highly regulated environment.

Location is hybrid with three days in our Glasgow office and occasional visits to Clyde. You will drive safety, quality and delivery, coordinating with MoD, operators and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Significant project management experience within defence, nuclear, marine, utilities, energy or major infrastructure sectors.
• Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts and collaborative delivery models.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering and consultancy teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and risk management capability.
• Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex marine and civil engineering projects.
• Manage project scope, programme, cost, risk and performance.
• Administer NEC4 Engineering & Construction Contracts (Option C).
• Coordinate marine, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical design teams.
• Manage project communications and contractual processes through CEMAR.
• Support the client in option development and delivery planning.
• Lead stakeholder engagement across MoD, operators, maintainers, regulators and supply chain partners.
• Manage design reviews, technical assurance and governance requirements.
• Promote excellence in health, safety, quality and environmental performance.
• Support procurement, construction, commissioning and project handover activities.
