Job summary

Kraken Works Limited is seeking a Senior Marine Engineer to lead the design of onboard systems for a diverse vessel portfolio, from concept through to delivery. The role blends hands-on mechanical design with 3D NX workflows and production support, interfacing with shipyards, suppliers and regulators.

You will drive specification, detailed design, and production data creation, while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring compliance with class rules and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in marine systems design and integration across onboard systems.
• Ability to specify and design mechanical and auxiliary marine systems to Class rules.
• Experience liaising with shipyards, suppliers and regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the specification and detailed design of primary mechanical and auxiliary marine systems.
• Produce layouts, cable and piping routes, and master general arrangements.
• Develop equipment lists, P&IDs and supporting calculations per Class rules.
• Generate accurate production data including MRP and BOM inputs.
• Support shipyard build activities and implement design changes as‑built.
