Job summary

Kraken Works Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Marine Engineer to join our Segensworth design team. You will lead the design of primary marine systems and ensure compliance with Class rules from concept through to build and delivery.

You will work hands-on with 3D design, production support and liaise with shipyards, suppliers and regulators to deliver high-quality vessel designs across a range of onboard systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in marine systems design and integration
• Ability to produce production-ready designs
• Sound knowledge of Class rules and marine regulations
• Experience liaising with shipyards and production teams
• Experience mentoring junior engineers
• Strong communication across disciplines

Responsibilities

• Lead the specification and detailed design of primary mechanical and auxiliary marine systems
• Develop equipment lists, P&IDs and calculations
• Create production data, including MRP and BOM inputs
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, customers, suppliers and subcontractors
• Support shipyard build activities and design changes
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and processes
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver compliant vessel designs
