Job summary

MBDA is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to join the Manufacturing team, focusing on test and diagnostics of electrical/electronic subsystems and circuit cards across early lifecycle stages. You will support manufacturing test capability to meet time, cost and quality targets.

You will lead testing during design, development and production readiness, ensuring equipment configuration control and clear test specifications while collaborating with operations and design teams to drive testability

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification level 4 or higher in Engineering, Physics or Maths.
• Must include modules for Electronic Principles or Electrical Principles.
• Several years' experience in related industry/manufacturing.
• Good understanding of electrical/electronic measurement and test principles and equipment.
• Experience using manual and automated test equipment, preferably in defence or similar manufacturing environment.
• Familiar with SAP and MES for recording test activities and non-conformance reports.
• Ability to plan and organise own work to meet Project objectives.
• Good verbal and written communication, including test specifications and technical reports.
• Proven analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide Test Engineering support during Design/Development through to Production Readiness Review.
• Support Test Facility introduction and ensure configuration control of equipment and facilities.
• Test electrical/electronic sub-assemblies and circuit cards with fault diagnosis to component level.
• Collaborate with Operations, design teams and stakeholders to overcome technical challenges.
• Maintain governance and pursue continuous improvement in Test Engineering.
• Work with Test Experts and design engineers to implement project test strategy and influence design for testability.
• Compile initial process flows for new product with Manufacturing management.
• Create and maintain test documentation for production test equipment.
• Support Process FMEA with test mitigations.
• Initialise test fixture designs for new product.
• Estimate time to test new products.
• Assist design engineers in functional & Environmental testing of prototypes.
