Job summary

MBDA, a leading defence organisation, seeks a Principal Test Engineer to join the Manufacturing team. You will support test and diagnostics of electrical/electronic sub-systems and circuit cards through early lifecycle phases, ensuring targets are met on time, cost, and quality.

You will coordinate with Operations and design teams to implement test strategies, document production test equipment, and contribute to continuous improvement while adhering to governance requirements.

Qualifications

• DV clearance or willingness to obtain DV.
• Engineering Level 4 or higher is required.
• Experience in defense/manufacturing environment is required.
• Experience with test equipment and test principles is required.
• Experience with SAP or MES for test activity records is required.
• Ability to plan and prioritise tasks to meet project objectives.
• Good verbal and written communication; ability to produce test specs and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide Test Engineering support during Design through Production Readiness Review.
• Assist Test Facility introduction and maintain configuration control of equipment.
• Test electrical/electronic sub-assemblies and diagnose production test failures.
• Collaborate with Operations and design teams to overcome technical challenges.
• Maintain Test Engineering governance and pursue continuous improvement.
• Assist in defining project test strategy with design engineers.
